Learn more about this Author:

Rebecca Frankeny was born with a passion for horses. She turned this obsession into a profession when she went to work for a racehorse trainer after high school. After eight years as an groom, exercise rider, assistant trainer and eventually a trainer of Thoroughbred racehorses, an injury sustained while exercising a horse convinced her that a college education would be an asset should she ever become seriously injured while working with the horses.

Part-time college led to full-time college which led to veterinary school at the University of Pennsylvania followed by a surgical residency at the University of Missouri. After her residency, Rebecca took as position as a surgeon at Comstock Large Animal Hospital in Reno, Nevada. It was here that she was introduced to the sport of eventing.

After ten years in Reno, Rebecca returned to her home state of Pennsylvania to start her own practice, Juniata Mobile Veterinary Service. She now lives in Millerstown, Pennsylvania with her husband Mike and their dogs, cats, horses, and fainting goats. She continues to be a full-time fan and a part-time participant in the sport of eventing.
